This week I've mostly been concentrating on gaming projects for the upcoming London Gaming Market. I feel like I've made enough smaller pieces to sell, so now I've been working on some larger pieces, as well as designing some artwork to make for the London Film & Comic Con in July. The smaller pieces I've finished are as follows: I finally took the plunge and made a screenshot from the NES Batman game that I've had on my to-do list for a long time. It came out pretty big, taking over 4 hours to make. After a little experimentation with frames, I found the best size (40x50cm), and the white colour seems to work well in making the art stand out. Very happy with this one :) I've always been a fan of Burton's Batman movie (the sequel not so much), but I never particularly enjoyed the games based on the original film. I remember having the Gameboy version and being a little confused as to why Batman had a gun and basically shot everyone. Did the developers not know who Batman was?? The current Arkham series of games is amazing, but my favourite retro Batman game will always be Batman Returns on SNES. The only downside is it's 1 player only - they missed a golden opportunity to include Robin or Catwoman as player 2! And now, a little work in progress! Here is another screenshot I've been wanting to do for a long time. Currently just under 2 hours in, it will be 50x50cm when finished. For the record, I've always been terrible at the Ninja Gaiden games, but the sprites and cutscenes are awesome!
